We selected the Goodix GT911 solution, an industrial-grade controller IC renowned for its exceptional cost-to-performance ratio. Although this IC is traditionally categorized as a commercial/industrial consumer-grade component, our engineering team implemented a dual optimization strategy combining physical hardware grounding/shielding with firmware algorithm tuning. This successfully suppressed noise interference and ghost touches in regular industrial environments, ensuring long-term touch stability and operational uptime for the equipment.
To address the routing constraints within the narrow interior of the industrial analyzer, we recommended a standard 7-inch touch screen featuring a center-aligned FPC layout. The tail position of this capacitive touch screen aligns seamlessly with the customer’s original LCD panel and internal mechanical chassis. This achieved a seamless structural drop-in replacement, saving the customer from expensive custom tooling fees.
This 7-inch capacitive touch screen utilizes a standard I2C (IIC) communication interface, enabling direct hardware plug-and-play with the customer’s mainboard, while the underlying software drivers are highly standardized. Because the product dimensions and electrical interfaces are fully standardized, the customer bypassed the typical multi-week prototyping cycle. Units could be deployed immediately upon receipt for standard Tape Bonding (perimeter bonding) assembly to complete the display module integration, significantly accelerating the time-to-market (TTM) for the new project.
