Recently, a client entrusted our company with the custom development of a touch display assembly for their smart service robot. Targeting the unique large-curvature shaped aesthetic design of the robot's facial interaction, the anti-vibration protection requirements during machine movement, and the anti-interference demands for large-sized touch signals, our technical team tailored this large-bezel disk-shaped capacitive touchscreen assembly. This was achieved through a 13.3-inch integrated full-bonding LCD+touch assembly architecture, a large-sized circular shaped CNC customized glass cover lens, and a highly integrated COB (Chip on Board) touch structure design. The solution effectively addresses the manufacturing pain points of smart robot terminals in non-standard shaped appearance processing, high-integration assembly, and electrical noise resistance.
Project Background:
According to client feedback, the touch panel of a smart robot serves as the "facial interaction" of the entire machine, incorporating large circular curvatures to match the streamlined casing of the robot body. The front cover glass requires a large-area circular extension, while its central display and touch area must retain a standard 13.3-inch rectangular viewport to present real-time curve data charts and multi-level menu controls. Due to the large overall size of the panel and its non-standard irregular shape, a split assembly would easily trap dust in the gaps of the touchscreen panel. To maintain the aesthetic design of the machine while achieving structural protection and high-definition visual recognition, the client chose to cooperate with our company for assembly customization.

    The surface of this scheme utilizes a tempered glass cover lens with a large diameter and large circular arc edges. Our engineering team used an industrial-grade CNC glass carving machine to perform precise carving and edge passivation on the high-hardness glass. During the silk-screening stage, an opaque black ink layer was applied. A miniature round hole viewport was precisely reserved in the non-display area of the cover lens, which can be used to embed the robot's front camera and infrared proximity sensor. This true-flat integrated cover lens design physically eliminates split splicing gaps, giving the entire machine excellent protective performance.

    Although the perimeter of this cover lens utilizes a large circular shaped cut that fits the robot casing, its central core area integrates a standard 13.3-inch rectangular high-definition touch display viewport. The capacitive touchscreen layer and the underlying 13.3-inch industrial-grade high-definition LCD screen are joined via an industrial-grade OCA (Optical Clear Adhesive) full-bonding process. In a cleanroom environment, optical clear adhesive fills the air gap between the two media layers. This process eliminates secondary light refraction inside the screen, ensuring that interface data parameters and trend curves remain sharp and visible under harsh lighting.
  3. Industrial-Grade COB Structural Design and Anti-Interference Electrical Tuning:
    This scheme adopts a highly integrated COB (Chip on Board) structural design. Our technical teamsolidified the capacitive touch control chip (IC) directly onto the driver board. To counter the complex electromagnetic interference generated by internal drive motors, frequency inverters, and multiple wireless communication modules of mobile devices, engineers injected filtering algorithms into the underlying firmware. This ensures that the 13.3-inch touchscreen maintains sensitive multi-point touch feedback even in complex electrical environments or during wet-hand blind operations.
