Project Background

In view of the fact that the customer's electronic scale motherboard has been finalized and the circuit cannot be changed, the customer plans to purchase our 11.6-inch (model: STC-11697, equipped with EETI ILI2511 chip scheme) off-the-shelf PCAP touch screen. However, the standard capacitive screen of our company is 6pin I2C interface, while the I2C interface of the customer's existing motherboard is 7pin. Due to the inconsistency between the physical interface and the pin definition, the direct connection cannot work normally. In order to meet this special situation, and on the premise that customers don't consider customization and pursue high efficiency and low cost, our professional engineering team conducted in-depth analysis and put forward an efficient conversion scheme for the adapter board.

  1. Hardware Transfer Matching:

Aiming at the pin difference between 6pin and 7pin I2C interfaces, the engineering team quickly designed a special interface adapter board, which accurately rearranged the physical paths of power supply (VDD/VCC), GND), clock wire (SCL), data wire (SDA), interrupt signal (INT) and reset signal (RST) to realize signal bridging.

  1. Signal Link Optimization And Anti-interference:

Combined with the electrical characteristics of ILI2511 chip on the FPC, our engineering team installed a matching pull-up resistor and pre-filter circuit on the external adapter board. This design effectively counteracts the parasitic capacitance caused by interface conversion, and blocks the power supply and RF interference in the electronic scale in advance on the physical link, ensuring the complete I2C communication waveform and stable transmission.
